Terms of use

These are short on purpose. Docognito is a small, free tool, and the terms for using it are correspondingly small.

The short version

Docognito is free, with no account and no payment. You may install it and use it for as long as it remains available on the Chrome Web Store. It is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and you use it at your own risk.

No warranty

Docognito is offered without any warranty, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. It is maintained by one person, in spare time, and while reasonable care goes into it, nothing here is a guarantee that it will be free of faults, available without interruption, or suitable for any particular purpose you have in mind.

Your responsibility

Docognito changes what a screen shows. It does not decide, and has no way of knowing, what rules apply to you at your workplace, your school or exam board, or anywhere else you use it. If a policy that applies to you restricts how or where you may use an AI assistant, that policy still applies with Docognito installed, and complying with it remains your responsibility, not this extension's.

Not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic

Docognito is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OpenAI or Anthropic in any way. ChatGPT and Claude are named on this site only to describe the sites the extension works on, which are claude.ai, chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com, and no other website.

Changes

These terms, and the extension itself, may change over time. A meaningful change to these terms will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Docognito after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Questions

Questions about Docognito can be raised through the support tab on its Chrome Web Store listing. You can also add Docognito to Chrome from the same listing.
